When I'm not working, you can find me at home, but traveling is, by far, one of my favorite things to do whether it's road tripping, camping, taking a cruise, or flying off to someplace new. It is definitely one of the times that I get to fill my need to see the things I've never seen. Often it is the things that are seemingly insignificant that find their way into my works of art. Sometimes it can be the words or rambling thoughts that are reflected in my one of a kind creations, but other times it may be things collected. These artifacts have included photos and various types of paper like ticket stubs, journaling notes, napkins, and invitations. If I can find a way to work the material into a canvas, I will include it as it adds to the characteristics of expressionism and in the fact that it aids the connection to a time or place in my representational art. Whether it's acrylic or mixed media, I love how interesting color combinations and unexpected colors only add to the excitement and contrast to the ordinary day to day.
